Senior Leadership Team

The community is lead by the Community Manager and is supported by members of the Senior Leadership Team.

The following positions are within the Senior Leadership Team:

  1. Community Manager
  2. Assistant Community Manager

The Senior Leadership Team has the right to terminate the membership of any member from the community at anytime without notice or explanation.

The Senior Leadership Team is responsible for the strategic direction of the community, and is the highest management group within the community.

The Senior Leadership Team has the authority to overrule any previous decision made by any staff member or roleplay function.

The Community Manager can delegate any authority, powers or actions as outlined in the Community Guidelines to any person the Community Manager sees fit. Delegation must be in writing and have a time limit not exceeding 12 months.

Establishment of Staff Roles

The Senior LeadershipTeam are the only team to approve the establishment of new staff positions and teams.

Establishments must be published to all community members within 24 hours of the change occurring.

Minimum Requirements for Staff Members

All staff members must adhere to the following requirements:

  1. Be in good standing within the community; and
  2. Be available for staff meetings; and
  3. Be an active member within the community; and
  4. Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Community Guidelines; and
  5. Not have any disciplinary action recorded within a three month period; and
  6. Not be a member of another roleplay community without the approval of the Community Manager

Recruitment of Staff Members

For the recruitment of staff positions the following must occur:

  1. The position be advertised within the Sydlife Roleplay Discord server; and
  2. A position description is attached to the advertisement; and
  3. The advertisement is published for a period that is at least 14 days or longer; and
  4. Applications are short listed and interviews conducted; and
  5. Interviews are audio recorded and conducted with more than one current staff member

Staff are to be appointed in writing not exceeding an initial period of 6 months.

After the period of initial appointment has concluded the staff member may apply for an extension of appointment, the extension of appointment must not exceed a period of 24 months, all reappoints thereafter will be for a 24 month term.

Community Staff vs Roleplay Positions

Community staff are to support the service delivery of the community and to ensure all policies, guidelines, rules and standards are maintained.

When participating in-game the staff members rank, status or level reflected by the roleplay function are to be observed. Higher ranking members, who may not be staff, are to be in control of functional roleplay (e.g. A staff member may be a Constable in the SAPF, and a non staff member is a Sergeant, the member who is a Sergeant will take operational control in game.)

However where there is a serious breach of the community guidelines staff are expected to step in and resolve the situation if appropriate.

In most circumstances staff should note down any breaches and address them after the session.
